Geldspenden an Casa Garandi Football United übergeben
Viele von Euch haben unsere Spendenaktion für den Fußball in Kubuneh mit Sachspenden und als Karton-Pate unterstützt. Am kommenden Wochenende können dank der Lockerungen die Kisten nun endlich auf die Reise gehen.
Wir konnten aber auch Spenden für Spritgeld für die Auswärtsspiele und für Reis für die Spielerinnen und Spieler sammeln.
Trainiert wird hauptsächlich am Wochenende. Viele Spielerinnen und Spieler von Casa Garandi Football United laufen morgens früh zum Training los und kommen weit nach dem Mittagessen erst zurück. Das bedeutet, Frühstück und Mittag fallen aus, es gibt nichts mehr, wenn man spät zurück kommt. Organisator MoFire von Casa Garandi Football United sorgt daher neben abwechslungsreichem Training auch für die Verpflegung der Kinder und Jugendlichen. Das alles macht er aus eigener Tasche und eigenem Garten, obwohl er zur Zeit durch Corona seinem Job kaum nachgehen kann. Kürzlich wurde der kleine Garten auch von Tieren geplündert und musste ganz neu angelegt werden. Glücklicherweise haben wir hier auch Spender für Reis usw. gefunden. Bei dem Versuch, die erste Spende für Reis zu übermitteln, haben Hartmut, MoFire und Yvonne mehrere Tage mit der Western Union Bank gekämpft. Das Geld konnte problemlos angewiesen werden, es gab jedes Mal einen Abhol-Code, der an MoFire ging. MoFire hat sich dann auf den weiten Weg zur nächsten Filiale der Western Union gemacht, aber vor Ort jedes Mal kein Geld bekommen. Beim letzten Versuch hatte er dann nicht einmal mehr genug Geld für den Bus zurück. Glücklicherweise hat er es dennoch irgendwie wieder zurück geschafft. Aber ihr könnt Euch Frust und Verzweiflung vorstellen. Western Union können wir wirklich nicht empfehlen. Letztlich dauerte es noch 14 Tage, bis das letzte transferierte, aber nicht ausgezahlte Geld wieder zurück war.
Technische Probleme hatte auch KuKis Kontaktmann in Kubuneh, weshalb es am Ende Wochen dauerte, bis MoFire die erste Hilfe in der Hand hatte.
Nun aber hat KuKi eine gute Lösung für Casa Garandi Football United gefunden. Bei der Auszahlung der Patenschaften wurde aus dem Topf für Spritgeld und Reis auch Spendengeld für MoFire ausgezahlt. Und somit hat es diesmal nicht einmal eine Woche gedauert, bis die Hilfe ankam. So machen wir es im nächsten Quartal wieder. MoFire war gleich am nächsten Tag auf dem Markt und konnte Reis, Zucker und Erdnüsse für die Kinder und Jugendlichen einkaufen. Somit waren für das 5!stündige Training am Samstag alle gut versorgt.
Auswärtsspiele sind für Casa Garandi Football United selten möglich. Die Wege sind weit, kaum jemand hat ein Auto. Und kann man ein Auto leihen, fehlt es an Spritgeld Dazu muss man wissen, dass der Sprit nahezu genauso teuer ist wie bei uns, aber zum Beispiel das Monatseinkommen eines Lehrers oder Polizisten geringer ist, als eine einzige Tankfüllung. Dank unserer und Eurer Spenden konnte MoFire mit Casa Garandi Football United letzte Woche zu einem Auswärtsspiel nach Old Jeshwang fahren. Das ist „nur“ 23 km von Kubuneh entfernt, aber eine gute Autostunde weit weg, wenn nichts dazwischen kommt. Ein Highlight für alle Beteiligten. Das Spiel Casa Garandi Football United – Old Jeshwang endete 2:2. Mit dem Ergebnis waren alle sehr zufrieden.

Many of you have supported our fundraising campaign for football in Kubuneh with donations in kind and as a cardboard sponsor. Thanks to the easing, the boxes can finally go on their way next weekend.
But we were also able to collect donations for fuel money for the away games and for rice for the players. Training takes place mainly on weekends. Many of the players at Casa Garandi Football United start training early in the morning and don’t come back until well after lunch. This means that breakfast and lunch are canceled, there is nothing left if you come back late. Organizer MoFire from Casa Garandi Football United therefore not only provides varied training but also provides food for the children and young people. He does all of this out of his own pocket and his own garden, although at the moment he can hardly do his job due to Corona. The small garden was recently looted by animals and had to be completely rebuilt. Fortunately, we have also found dispensers for rice etc. here. While trying to get the first donation for rice, Hartmut, MoFire and Yvonne fought with the Western Union Bank for several days. The money could be transferred without any problems, there was a pick-up code every time, which was sent to MoFire. MoFire then made the long way to the nearest Western Union branch, but never received any money on site. On the last try, he didn’t even have enough money back for the bus. Fortunately, he somehow made it back. But you can imagine frustration and despair. We really cannot recommend Western Union. In the end, it took another 14 days until the last money transferred but not paid out was back.
KuKi’s contact in Kubuneh also had technical problems, which is why it took weeks before MoFire had first aid in hand. But now KuKi has found a good solution for Casa Garandi Football United. When the sponsorships were paid out, donations for MoFire were also paid out from the pot for fuel money and rice. And so this time it didn’t even take a week for the help to arrive. So we’ll do it again in the next quarter. MoFire was at the market the very next day and was able to buy rice, sugar and peanuts for the children and young people. So everyone was well taken care of for the 5! Hour training on Saturday.
Away games are rarely possible for Casa Garandi Football United. The distances are long and hardly anyone has a car. And if you can borrow a car, there is not enough fuel money. You have to know that fuel is almost as expensive as ours, but the monthly income of a teacher or police officer, for example, is less than a single tank of fuel. Thanks to our and your donations, MoFire was able to go to an away game in Old Jeshwang with Casa Garandi Football United last week. That is “only” 23 km away from Kubuneh, but a good hour’s drive away if nothing comes in between. A highlight for everyone involved. The game Casa Garandi Football United – Old Jeshwang ended 2-2. Everyone was very satisfied with the result.
